Mads Holm & Linda Conroy Talk

Jill Todd Photographic Award Winner and Runner-Up

Nerve Visual, 80/81 Gallery, Ebrington, Derry (1pm, 13 May)

Winners of the Jill Todd Photographic Award 2016 discuss their radically different series of works as part of the exhibition.

Mads Holm is currently based in Glasgow and Copenhagen and is a graduate of the Glasgow School of Art. His JTPA award winning project About common ground is an experiment in constant photographic investigation of states and movements in global society. The project also won the 2016 Danish Embassy Art Prize.

Linda Conroy is a graduate of Belfast School of Art, and has previously exhibited in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, and in Edinburgh. She was awarded second place in the Jill Todd Photo Award 2016, with her series ‘Simple and easy steps to unending joy and happiness…’ (2016) which uses the photography of objects and actions to explore her experience as a recent graduate, where in the post degree context of unemployment and mounting rejection letters days are spent online finding inspirational material in a search for happiness.
